Any contribution, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated.
Of all the money received through these donations, 90% will be used to cover this project’s expenses, while 10% will be dedicated to financing ALS research in Spain. In particular, the money will be destined to the efforts of the Vall d’Hebrón Hospital, in Barcelona.
ALS stands for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. It is a neuromuscular degenerative disease. It causes a progressive paralyzation of most voluntary muscles, including the muscles that allow for eating, drinking and even breathing. It is often considered to be the cruelest disease that exists, as it doesn’t affect the cognitive function, and the patient stays fully aware of the deterioration process. Following the diagnosis, life expectancy is around three years. The British physicist Stephen Hawking (1942-2018) was one of the most famous people affected by ALS.
By contributing to this project, you will also be contributing to fight against this devastating disease.
I will make a special mention here to Jordi Sabaté Pons, Spanish activist against ALS, whose tireless fight for his fair cause has greatly motivated and inspired me to also fight for mine. You can also visit the website of his association, ELAdos (in Spanish).
Muchas gracias.
